Hi, I’m Jenn (writing as J. Lynn Baker).
I’m an author, maker, and worldbuilder who brews beer, crafts costumes, and tells layered, character-driven stories that weave conspiracies, found family, and hope in darkness. My cats (Seraph, Watson, and Bear) supervise everything I do, and my characters are known to argue with me while I’m making coffee (or doing just about anything else!).
I write sci-fi thrillers, immersive fantasy, and supernatural mysteries, crafting worlds where quiet hope coexists with rebellion, and where layered stories invite readers to escape while staying grounded in what matters.
My work is for those who love immersive worlds, flawed but determined characters, and the deep connections stories can create between readers and storytellers. If you enjoy worlds with hidden threads, layered emotional journeys, and a touch of clever banter, you’re in the right place.
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me brewing new beer recipes, crafting in my workspace, reading, or planning the next adventure (for me or my characters). If you spot rainbow confetti on my desk, that’s normal—just a sign the stories are alive and well.

Seraph - The eldest, wisest, and definitely the one that keeps me on track!
Watson - The anxious introvert who tries to do my worrying for me.
Bear - my void kitty. The youngest (and biggest) of the crew, he brings the silliness and cheer.
The Troublemakers
Mischief - Chief troublemaker and lover of confetti. I've hidden all the glitter from them!
The Froggies - They try to be helpful but they're more prone to listen to Mischief than to Seraph.
